JAIPUR BLUE POTTERY
This craft originated in Turkey and the Middle East before arriving in Rajasthan via Delhi. Under the royal patronage of 19th century rulers in Jaipur, the craft thrived, and artists developed individual styles to obtain a wide range of colors, motifs and patterns. In contrast to other crafts used in The Spring 2011 Collection, blue pottery continues to employ many artists in Jaipur today. In order to enable the artisans to innovate and keep the craft alive, a portion of proceeds from the sale of each dress from this collection will be donated to select non-profits.
